Psitteuteles

The monotypic genus Psitteuteles genus includes only the Varied Lorikeet which is native to the northern Australia. It is generally not found outside of Australia and also rare among Australian breeders.

Previous this genus included two more species, but these were moved with the IOC 11.2 update in 2021:

• Iris Lorikeet (Psitteuteles iris) has been reclassified as Saudareos iris.
• Goldie’s Lorikeet (Psitteuteles goldiei) has been reclassified as Glossoptilus goldiei.
