Chalcopsitta

The Chalcopsitta genus includes tree species native to New Guinea and the Solomon Islands. They are about 31-32 cm long and have a relatively small beak compared to other parrots. All tree species have streaks or markings on the face.

The name Chalcopsitta is based on the greek words “khalkos” and “psitta” meaning bronze-parrot.
