The Diopsittaca genus includes the species Red-shouldered Macaw, which is a small green Macaw native to South America; three subspecies are recognized by the authorities.
Similar to the larger and generally more well known Macaws the Diopsittaca has a relatively large beak, large tail and a patch with naked skin extending from the eye to the lower mandible.
