Neophema

The Neophema genus includes six small Australian grass parrots. They are common in aviculture, especially the more colorful Scarlet-chested Parrot and Turquoise Parrot. They are closely related to the Bourke’s Parrot (Neopsephotus bourkii), which is also rather common in aviculture.

They are calm and quiet with just a soft chattering sound. They are very placid and can be housed in a large aviary with other species.
