Psittacella

The Psittacella genus includes four species of Tiger Parrots endemic to New Guinea. The English name is based on the tiger-striped backs.

Brehm’s Tiger Parrot is the largest of these species with a length of about 24 cm; the other species are small parrots with a length of about 14 – 19 cm.

They are not found or very rare in captivity.
