The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species™ is a list of endangered species maintained by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). Some also refers to it just by “The Red List”. It is the world’s most comprehensive list of species threatened by extinction. 

The species listed on The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species™ are categorised as:

  • LC : Least Concern
  • NT : Near Threatened
  • VU : Vulnerable
  • EN : Endangered
  • CR : Critically Endangered
  • EW : Extinct In The Wild
  • EX : Extinct
