Forpus
The Forpus genus includes nine small parrots from South and Middle America.
They are highly social and pet birds should have a partner as they may show signs of depression if kept alone.
In general they are difficult to breed. They can be aggressive towards other birds or even their partner; biting attacks aimed towards the claws of other birds can occur.
According to [IUCN] the Mexican Parrotlet is Near Threatened and the Yellow-faced Parrotlet is Vulnerable due to cage-bird trade. The other Forpus species are Least Concern.
