The Brotogeris genus includes eight small parrots with an overall green plumage and a narrow beak. They are native to Central and South America.

They can be very noisy which should be taken into consideration before buying a pet parrot. Provide plenty of toys for climbing.

Most of the Brotogeris species are not as easy to breed in captivity as other parrots and are not recommended for beginners.
